I first met Lena back in 2013 when I was living and studying in Budapest; and who would have thought that two years later we would be collaborating in the same city in which we met.

Lena is an exhibited artist, an author in the making and an student obtaining a degree in American Literature in Oslo, Norway. (Not to mention the fact that she has amazing eyes and knows exactly what to do in front of the camera.) Spending time with Lena in Budapest was an absolute dream.

I felt her images would hold greater meaning and concept if she chose our shooting location; so with her leading the way, we were off to spend an afternoon in the 7th District of Budapest. This district is known for its ruin pubs which hold an abundance of history and make for an awesome night out. Lena has spent a lot of her artist life in this area as her work has been exhibited in several of the district's venues so shooting here couldn't have been more appropriate. Street murals, graffiti, public markets and beautiful façades were complemented with the most golden afternoon light. Great conversation about home towns, career dreams, current happenings and just life in general made our time all the more rich. It was an honor to hear Lena's story about her growing up in a small village in Hungary, making connections and relationships in Budapest, and her recent transition to her now-home in Scandinavia.

Thanks, Lena, for letting me capture your right now and for sharing your story! I can't wait to see where you go from here.

(I encourage everyone to go check out her work and keep up with her latest ongoings via Facebook!)
